Alveda King, niece of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. , said she doesn’t think President Donald Trump is racist and believes he has helped the black community, Monday on “Fox and Friends.”

“I don’t believe Donald John Trump is a racist,” King said. “Look at everything, The economy is up. Jobs are up in the black community. There is great promise to get a lot of people who have been unfairly incarcerated out. So there are so many economic opportunities — opportunities for babies in the womb.”

“The president is working for America, period, as is he draining the swamp,” she continued. “And African-Americans are benefiting.”

The black community has also been aided by the Trump tax cuts through increased bonuses and an uptick in the minimum wage, King said.

“Our jobs are going up. Our unemployment is going down,” King said Monday. “Companies are saying they’re going to raise their own minimum wage and do bonuses because of the tax cuts.”

“The president is helping the African-American community,” she added.
