President Donald Trump prefers cherry and strawberry flavored Starbursts so much he only eats those flavors, The Washington Post reports.
House Minority leader Kevin McCarthy took notice of the president’s habit and sought to curry favor with him by making a staffer go through bags of the candy and separate them out. McCarthy gathered the two flavors into a jar and then gave them to a “grinning” president, a White House official told TheWP.

Trump’s eating habits have been the subject of much media attention since the 2016 campaign with a penchant for sweets revealed. The president reportedly will not eat Oreo cookies if they are from an opened package and is a vociferous diet coke drinker. At a dinner attended by Time reporters in May 2017, the president ate two scoops of ice cream along with chocolate pie, which created a media frenzy.
