There is going to be a racial reckoning against President Donald Trump and the GOP for enabling racism, MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough said Monday on “Morning Joe.”

“A hard rain is going to fall on Donald Trump and the Republicans who enable this sort of racism, and it’s coming,” Scarborough said.

The Morning Joe host cited his own sons and their friends as proof of the perceived animosity and “contempt” towards Trump, and said that political party no longer matters to younger voters.

“You can see it even with my older boys and their friends, there is such embarrassment and such contempt even among conservative friends for Donald Trump’s — how close-minded Donald Trump is,” Scarborough said. “And you see it even going into high school friends and — there is such a change generationally that I have seen over the past 10, 15 years of younger Americans and political party just doesn’t matter.”

Scarborough accused Trump of propagating racism and xenophobia and said he projects those tendencies onto the American people “every day.”

“Rejecting racism, rejecting xenophobia, rejecting the close mindedness, the sort of close mindedness that this president unfortunately brings to his job and sends out to the American people everyday,” Scarborough concluded.
