Another trailer for FX’s upcoming show “American Crime Story: The Assassination of Gianni Versace” was released Tuesday.

The plot of the upcoming show, according to E!, is, “Ryan Murphy and the American Crime Story team will examine the shocking 1997 murder of legendary fashion designer Gianni Versace in its upcoming installment, and have assembled quite the cast to do so. Edgar RamirezDarren Criss and Penelope Cruz are all set to star in key roles, while Max Greenfield and Ricky Martin will appear in supporting roles.”

I love Penelope Cruz. “Sahara” is one of my favorite movies, and her role in it is a very large reason why. Of course, Matthew McConaughey and Steve Zahn also crushed it in that movie. So, I’m more than willing to give absolutely anything she’s in a shot.

Secondly, FX has a history of knocking this kind of stuff out of the park. “Justified,” “American Horror Story,” “The Americans,” “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” and the O.J. Simpson series were all outstanding. FX just has a way of creating greatness.

Mix in the fact that this is a true story, and I think we’re in for a big win. It will premiere on FX January 17.
