MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough accused GOP Sens. Tom Cotton and David Perdue of lying about President Donald Trump’s “shithole countries” comments, and said they were fabricating the truth to cover up Trump’s racism.
“Whether you want to say s-hole or s-house, [Trump] was bragging while Tom Cotton, the DHS Secretary and David Perdue were getting ready to lie. Lie — let me say again: lie, lie,” Scarborough said Tuesday on “Morning Joe.” “They were lying to their constituents, they were lying to the American people. They were lying to the press. All to cover up the fact that the president of the United States is a bigot.”

Scarborough also claimed that Trump had bragged about using the foul language, citing only one blogger and “several others” as his sources.
“Not only did the White House not deny it initially, the president of the United States — according to Erick Erickson and several others — the president of the United States was calling around people, bragging that he had used the language Thursday night,” Scarborough said.
