Democrats are threatening to shut down the government this week over DACA, even though they publicly criticized the move in 2013.

A new video from America Rising PAC shows Democrats slamming the idea of shutting down the government for political reasons when Republicans did it under President Obama.

WATCH:

“We want to negotiate without a gun to our head,” Sen. Chuck Schumer said at the time. “It’s sort of like this: someone goes into your house, takes your wife and children hostage, and then says, ‘let’s negotiate on the price of your house.'”

“We could do the same thing on immigration,” Schumer continued, a somewhat eerie statement given the current situation in Congress. “We believe strongly in immigration reform–we could say we’re shutting down the government, we’re not going to raise the debt ceiling until you pass immigration reform.”

Notably, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi is urging all Democrats to vote against a short term funding measure today that does not include immigration. In 2013, however, she said she was disgusted by such tactics.

“I join the American people in their disgust about what happened, in terms of the shutdown of government,” Pelosi said. “That’s an unthinkable tactic to use.”

The video also features Sen. Bernie Sanders and Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand slamming Republicans for the 2013 shutdown.
