Alabama student Harley Barber filmed herself in multiple Instagram videos dropping racial slurs about black people, and the videos have since gone viral.

The news gets much worse for her because now the school is investigating the videos. AL.com reported the following:

University of Alabama officials said they are investigating after a student recently posted videos on social media where she repeatedly used the n-word and other profanities.

Student Harley Barber, who said on the videos that she was a member of Alphi Phi sorority, posted the videos on Instagram, one of them shared on the Monday holiday honoring Martin Luther King Jr.

…

University of Alabama spokesman Chris Bryant on Tuesday released this statement to AL.com. “These remarks are ignorant and disturbing and in no way reflect the values of The University of Alabama. This unfortunate behavior has been reported to the Office of Student Conduct as it does not align with the community expectations of students at the Capstone.”

Her Instagram page now goes to a dead link and appears to have been taken down. It goes without saying that her job prospects just took a major hit. How dumb do you have to be in general to be a racist, and how much of an even bigger idiot do you need to be in order to film MULTIPLE racist rants?

There’s no way the University of Alabama can let this stand. From a pure PR standpoint, this will become an unimaginable nightmare if Barber just keeps strolling around campus like nothing happened. It’s also got to be infuriating for people in Alabama that this moron from New Jersey came down south, and now thinks she has a pass to racist. Not acceptable at all, and the people Alabama shouldn’t be viewed in a different way because this idiot found her way to a camera.

Hopefully this serves as a lesson for everybody else out there. Don’t even think about making the same mistakes Barber did. It’s going to impact your life in a way you can’t even imagine, and you have everything you deserve coming your way if you casually drop racist slurs because you think it makes you cool.
