White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders struck down Wednesday recent media reports that claimed President Donald Trump does in fact have heart disease and misreported his weight.

Trump’s physician Dr. Ronny Jackson delivered an extensive review of the president’s health to the White House press corps Tuesday in which he characterized it overall as “excellent.” During the briefing, CNN medical analyst Dr. Sanjay Gupta specifically asked Jackson whether Trump had heart disease to which he replied, “No, he does not have heart disease.”

Gupta, however, told CNN Wednesday morning that “by all standards, by all metrics, anyway a doctor or cardiologist will look at it, the president does have heart disease.” Gupta was not the only one to question Jackson’s medical briefing.

Sanders noted that Jackson is the only doctor that has examined Trump and is “the only credible source when it comes to diagnosing any health concerns.” She also noted that he was trusted by former presidents Bush and Obama.

Several media personalities insinuated Trump’s weight was likely more than the 239 pounds reported by Jackson during the briefing.

Other’s questioned whether Trump was misreporting his height in order not to be classified as clinically obese.
