Casey Affleck dropped out of presenting at the 2018 Oscars following sexual harassment claims against him, the Academy Awards confirmed Thursday.

Affleck, the winner of Best Actor 2017 for his role in “Manchester By the Sea,” has chosen to forgo the Oscar tradition where the best actor from the year before presents the best actress award, reported People. Affleck became the subject of scrutiny after two sexual harassment lawsuits against him resurfaced.

“We appreciate the decision to keep the focus on the show and the great work of this year,” an Academy spokesperson said when welcoming the decision, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Actress Brie Larson, who presented Affleck’s award in 2017, said that she did not clap for him due to the sexual harassment allegations.

Ben Affleck, Casey Affleck’s brother, is also the subject of a sexual harassment controversy after a video resurfaced of him groping actress Hilarie Burton, reported CNN. He apologized for his actions in October, reported CNN.
