This sucks for Griffin. Absolutely blows. He’s going from Los Angeles to Detroit. Are you kidding me? I’d contemplate retirement if I was getting moved from LA to Detroit. That’s nothing in particular against Detroit. It’s more about the fact you have to go from one of the biggest and best cities in America to Detroit, where nothing awesome happens.
It’d be one thing if you’d been in Detroit the whole time. You’re making millions and probably don’t know much better. It’s a totally different ball game if you’ve spent several years being cultivated in Los Angeles and now you’re headed to Detroit. It’s like if your super model girlfriend breaks up with you and next thing you know you’re dating an Instagram woman with like 25,000 followers. It’s still neat and all, but it’s not the same as dating a Victoria’s Secret Angel. It’s not even close.
I feel so bad for Blake Griffin. The man just got one of the biggest downgrades in all of sports. Good luck to him because he’s going to need it.
