CNN proved just how out of touch they are with the American people by touting Rep. Joe Kennedy III as an “every man.”
Rep. Kennedy delivered the official Democratic response to President Donald Trump’s first State of the Union address, and the media quickly fawned over his delivery and message. Rep. Joe Kennedy III is rich, a member of a political dynasty and attended Stanford University and Harvard Law, yet CNN pundits painted him as an everyday American.
CNN senior political analyst Mark Preston claimed that Kennedy was representing everyday Americans in his speech because he didn’t wear a suit jacket.
“Look at the setting he was in: he was in a town that has been racked by the economy, he has his jacket off, he seemed very every man,” Preston cheered. “I gotta tell you, you know, for the Democratic Party, who’s been looking at their bench… the future is Joe Kennedy.”
CNN political commentator Chris Cillizza even argued that Kennedy was actually fixing the car seen behind him before he gave his response speech.
“And Mark didn’t even mention that Joe Kennedy was fixing a car before he gave that speech,” Cillizza raved. “Did you see that car hood up? He fixed the car and just popped in, you know, gave the speech, went back to the car.”
