Journalists have turned on Michael Wolff after the anti-Trump author continued to stoke baseless rumors that United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley was having an affair with President Trump.
Wolf’s controversial book about the Trump administration, “Fire and Fury,” was once the hottest item among Washington journalists. Wolff kickstarted rumors about a Haley-Trump affair by saying he hid references to a Trump affair in his book. Haley forcefully denounced the rumors, but in another interview on Tuesday, Wolff doubled down and claimed she had “embraced” the smear.
Wolff’s insistence on stoking the Haley-Trump rumors appears to have been the last straw for many in the media.
Michael Wolff has no basis to spread rumors about Nikki Haley and Trump, but he doesn’t even seem to care. That’s not journalism. It’s just sleazy. https://t.co/CqIgliYY5M

Members of the media had previously helped Wolff spread another baseless rumor: that President Trump is mentally ill. The White House doctor knocked down that conspiracy theory in a briefing two weeks ago. (RELATED: These Media Members Were Behind Conspiracy Theories About Trump’s Mental Health)
