Democratic Sen. Dick Blumenthal accused GOP Rep. Devin Nunes of helping craft the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) memo with the White House, but offered no proof to substantiate the charge, Friday on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.”

“I think there is probably a credible case involving Nunes as well. Not just in what we know publicly. But in conversations that no doubt took place between him and the White House, which evidently was involved in drafting that three and a half-page memo,” said Blumenthal, who represents Connecticut.

WATCH:

Blumenthal didn’t go into specifics but mentioned the House ethics committee has been investigating Nunes, who represents California, and predicted his actions would “come back to haunt him.”

“What we don’t know is all of those private communications and as you well know, Nunes himself was under investigation by the House ethics committee for the unprecedented and hugely embarrassing visits he had with the White House, just a year or so ago,” Blumethal concluded. “So there is a lot there that I think could come back to haunt him, too.”
