President Donald Trump’s approval rating has risen 6 points since he delivered his state of the union address, Rasmussen’s daily tracking poll shows.

Trump’s approval rose from 43% on the day he delivered the state of the union to 49% Friday. The president’s total approval rating has not hit such heights since June 16, 2017 when he reached 50%.

Trump’s State of the Union address was met with broad immediate approval. Both CNN and CBS instant polls on the night of the address found nearly 70% of respondents approved of the speech.

“48% very positive reaction across the board. Barack Obama at the beginning of 2010, he had 48% very positive reaction. George W. Bush at the beginning of 2006, in his second midterms, 48%, very positive,”  CNN’s David Shelley said the night of the address.

CBSNews also found that 43% of Democrats approved of the speech along with 72% of independent voters.
