Rep. Trey Gowdy said in a Fox News interview Tuesday that the texts between FBI agents Peter Strzok and Lisa Page show “manifest bias in a way I have never seen it before.”

Fox host Martha MacCallum said, “So Sally Yates signed off on these FISA warrants, Andrew McCabe signed off on them, so did Rod Rosenstein. You don’t believe that they had any conspiratorial drive in presenting that dossier to get that warrant, to listen in on Carter Page’s phone calls because they didn’t want President Trump to be elected?”

“That is such a serious allegation,” Gowdy responded, “you would have to have something other than the fact that they were signing documents that led me to draw that conclusion. I am really troubled by what I have read from the Strzok-Page texts. It is manifest bias in a way I have never seen it before. That troubles me more than the fact that Rod Rosenstein did not feel the need to do independent research to corroborate assertions made in a court proceeding. If there is no evidence of conspiracy, I am loathe to accuse someone of it.”
