A naked plane passenger locked himself in a bathroom and forced a Wednesday morning Alaska Airlines flight bound for Seattle to turn around and land in Anchorage.

Passengers were in for a surprise when their early morning flight was forced to turn around after a naked passenger refused to come out of the bathroom, reported KTVA. The incident happened around Prince William Sound, approximately 100 miles from Anchorage. The disgruntled passengers were forced to wait until 6:30 a.m. for the flight to take off again from Anchorage International Airport, added CBS News.

“Alaska Airlines flight 146 from Anchorage to Seattle returned to Anchorage due to a passenger not following flight attendant’s instructions. While no emergency was declared, the decision was made to return to Anchorage,” Tim Thompson, an Alaska Airlines spokesman, said in an email to KTVA.

Kate Danyluk, an Anchorage teacher and a passenger on the flight, told CBS News that she did not see the naked man but men stood by the bathroom to shield the view of the passenger. “I’d rather go back to Anchorage than have something happen,” added Danyluck.

The passenger was escorted off the plane by officers at approximately 2:45 a.m. It is unclear whether or not he was arrested.
