Fox News president Jay Wallace went after CNN after the network claimed Fox lied about beating them in online page views.

Fox routinely smashes CNN in television ratings and claimed on Friday that they had also bested CNN in the page views category. Fox cited comScore numbers that put them at 1.43 billion total views and put CNN at 1.409 billion, as reported by The Hill.

CNN took issue with the calculation, arguing that the total page views should the entirety of the CNN brand, including CNN business and international entities. The entire CNN brand had 1.688 billion views.

“CNN also beat Fox News in page views. Reports to the contrary are bananas,” CNN said in a press release.

Fox News president Jay Wallace responded to CNN with a scorching statement, insisting that CNN was just angry that Fox had beat them in page views

“Just as we overtook CNN 16 years ago to become the leader in cable news, Fox News once again surged ahead on digital after an extensive upgrade & expansion … Clearly, suffering yet another loss to FOX News has driven CNN bananas,” Wallace said.
