Arizona State and Michigan Tech got a bit rough with each other over the weekend, and it ended with some classic hockey violence.

It’s not clear what started the melee, but both teams went wild after the game ended. There were even coaches on the ice getting in the dust up.

Fighting in college hockey is actually pretty rare, and it’s not encouraged at all like it is in juniors and the NHL. That’s one of the reasons this video is a bit shocking.

Say whatever you want about hockey players, but you can never say they’re not willing to knuckle up. So many other athletes are all talk and no action. It’s really annoying. Not hockey players. They live to scrap and draw blood.

I’m sure these two teams were getting chippy all game, and then all hell broke loose. As a big hockey guy, I wouldn’t want to have it any other way. Hockey has consequences for actions and sometimes that involves throwing some punches. That’s just part of the game, and we shouldn’t ever take it away.
