Police in North Carolina arrested a man three separate times within an eight-day period for allegedly trafficking heroin and prescriptions medications.

Authorities conducting a two-year investigation into narcotics trafficking first busted 41-year-old Jason Scott Dillard at his home Feb. 8, seizing 17 grams of heroin, 102 prescription pills and roughly $6,000 in cash. Dillard was put under a $100,000 secured bond, however, he was arrested again Feb. 13 after police found another 25 grams of heroin, two grams of methamphetamine, several hundred dollars in cash and drug paraphernalia during a second search of his home, reports WTVR.

Brittany Michelle Tucker, 28, and Kenneth Wayne Moose, 36, who were with Dillard during the second search, were also arrested and face drug charges. Authorities searched Dillard’s home a third time Friday Feb. 16 after arriving to “enforce drug taxes” owed by Dillard and discovered more than eight grams of heroin, an unspecified amount of methamphetamine and $745 in counterfeit cash.

Police say they discovered the drug stashes in the same safe in Dillard’s home during each of their three searchers. They estimate Dillard sold roughly 100 grams of heroin each week over the two-year period. Dillard’s bond is now set at $2 million.

Drug overdoses, fueled by substances like heroin, are now the leading cause of accidental death for Americans under age 50, killing more than 64,000 people in 2016, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
