“It: Part 2” might reportedly add Jessica Chastain to the cast.

The Hollywood Reporter reported the following:

Jessica Chastain is in talks to star in part two of New Line’s adaptation of Stephen King’s It.

The second installment focuses on the adult versions of the characters subjected to the terror of demon clown Pennywise and Chastain will play the grown-up version of Beverly, the girl in the misfit group. Sophia Lillis played the character in last year’s movie, which became a surprise phenomenon.

I love the idea of Chastain joining the crew for the second part of the hit movie saga. Chastain is coming in hot off the success of “Molly’s Game,” and there seems like no better time than right now to plug her into the film franchise.

Chastain brings with her lots of name recognition, tons of acting talent and plenty of good looks. That’s a trio that often translates to direct success at the box office.

The remake of “It” that came out last year was a very solid movie. There wasn’t actually a ton of super scary or terrifying parts. It felt more like an entertaining coming of age story than it did a straight up horror story. I actually found that to be a lot more fun.

I don’t have a clue what to expect from the second part, but I’m sure it’ll be great, especially if the producers find a way to get Chastain involved. Seems like an obvious move.
