A recent New York Post article asked whether or not LeBron James’ journey to Los Angeles is underway after all-star weekend.

The article is titled, “Was this the start of LeBron James’ Los Angeles takeover?,” and it’s a minor head-scratcher for basketball fans.

The New York Post wrote in part:

King James didn’t mute any of the California Dreaming after his MVP performance in a Hollywood All-Star thriller Sunday night at Staples Center.

La La Land and the Lakers would seem a great place for James to embark on his next mission as he attempts to become bigger than Michael Jordan ever was. After all, purple is the color of royalty.

If these new Cavs additions — both young and old — don’t step up to the moment in the postseason, James may not even have a tough choice.

I guess I’m just confused as to why this is being speculated about right now. People have been talking about LeBron James to Los Angeles since last summer. It’s not a new idea in the least bit.

Nobody has really thought that James would be returning to Cleveland after this season. It’s pretty clear there aren’t a bunch of championships on the horizon for the Cavaliers. Plus, a change of scenery might not be the worst thing anyways for the three-time NBA champion.

I just get a kick out of this idea that he plays in all-star weekend in Los Angeles and just now people are wondering whether or not he’s headed to the Lakers. Give me a break. This talk has been going on for months for anybody that has been paying attention.

I doubt he signs with the Clippers. That’s almost certainly not going to happen, which leaves us with just the Lakers. Do I know if he’ll go there for sure? Of course not, but I’d bet a lot more money on that outcome than him returning to the Cavaliers, which I don’t see happening at all.
