Netflix released a trailer for it’s upcoming mini-series “Collateral” late Monday night, and it looks outstanding.
The plot of the series, according to the YouTube description, is:
Set over the course of four days in London, Collateral explores the spiraling repercussions surrounding the fatal shooting of a pizza delivery man. Detective Inspector Kip Glaspie (Carey Mulligan) refuses to accept that this is a random act of violence, and is determined to discover if there is a darker truth.
The trailer focuses on Mulligan’s hunt for a killer, and we all know that Mulligan is about as solid as it gets for a leading actress.
As I said previously, it’s hard to believe anything that involves Carey Mulligan won’t be outstanding. Do we all remember her performance in “The Great Gatsby” as Daisy? It was thoroughly impressive.
She just has the ability to bring a subtle intensity that we rarely see these days in entertainment. So, I’m willing to give anything she’s in a real shot. Add in what appears to be a terrorism element, and I’m not sure how this could possibly fail. There’s nothing like a little terrorist hunting to get the blood flowing.
We’ll find out if “Collateral” lives up to the hype when it’s released March 9.
