Students For Life of America relaunched its “WeCare” tour to support college sexual-assault victims, following a slew of indiscretions from Hollywood bigwigs, media personalities and school educators.

Originally launched in fall 2014, Students For Life of America (SFLA) relaunched their “WeCare” effort upon 2017’s barrage of sexual harassment and assault cases across college campuses and in the greater, American public sphere. The group has visited 70 campuses thus far in its spring 2018 tour and will hit up a number of other colleges.

“We are here to help all the victims of rape and sexual assault, women and any children who may be conceived,” SFLA explained its simple mission in a press release sent to The Daily Caller News Foundation. The tour entails student leaders and SFLA regional coordinators distributing resources to women who are victims of rape and/or those who know a rape victim — including access to counseling and other vital services.

Members of SFLA also hand out whistles and cards detailing consent and sexual-assault information.

“Those women who become pregnant as a result of sexual assault need to know that there are people ready to help them through the recovery process and who want to help them find the right place for their baby as well,” Students for Life President Kristan Hawkins said in a press release. “And in this current environment, we need to be educating women about their resources should they face the trauma of assault,” she added.

Hawkins insisted perpetrators must be held accountable for their crimes. She added that students and resource providers should work as a team to ensure women and their unborn babies don’t pay the “ultimate price” for the perpetrators’ bad acts.

Abortion “actively destroys and dismembers another human … While the intention may be to lessen another person’s suffering, this is a great injustice to the second victim involved because they did not choose to be placed in this situation, either,” SFLA posits in its We Care resources.

The group’s previous, 2014 campus tours received a positive response on conservative and liberal campuses alike, and Hawkins noted the 2018 visits thus far have been well received also.

“Women deserve compassionate care when dealing with the trauma of sexual assault. We want young women to know where they can go when they or someone they know experience sexual assault. When this happens, we all have a duty to help those in need,” Hawkins said.
