Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Ryan Shazier isn’t giving up hope on making a return to the field.

The former Ohio State star recently appeared on a podcast with teammate Roosevelt Nix and said, “I gotta get back. Since I’ve been in college, I really wanted to go to the Hall of Fame. I still want to go to the Hall of Fame. All my goals are like making me want to go to the Hall of Fame…I’m still reaching for that Hall of Fame because I really feel I’m the best linebacker ever. I just got to be back out there so everybody can see it.”

Shazier suffered a terrifying spinal injury during a Monday night game against the Cincinnati Bengals. He went into make a tackle, and instantly collapsed on the field.

Shazier has a very long road ahead of him if he wants to play again, but we’re all cheering for him. It’s never fun seeing a young player get rocked, hurt and possibly end his career.

Hopefully he’s able to bounce back and play again. Whether you like the Steelers or not, I think it’s safe to say that we all want to see him on the field for some more snaps. It’s not going to be an easy journey, but no comeback story ever is.
