President Donald Trump delivered a triumphant call to stand for the national anthem before an audience at the conservative political action committee.

“We salute our great American flag, we put our hands on our hearts for the pledge of Allegiance, and we all PROUDLY STAND for the National Anthem,” Trump said Friday morning.

Trump’s speech echoed the same call from Vice President Mike Pence before the same audience.

“I’m here because I stand with President Trump,” Pence proclaimed Thursday. “Come to think of it, we always stand for our flag and our national anthem.”

Trump also addressed school safety after a recent school shooting in Parkland, Florida.

“When we declare our schools to be gun-free zones it just puts our students in more danger — well-trained gun-adept teachers and coaches should be able to carry concealed firearms,” he said. “We should do what works. This includes commonsense measures that will protect the rights of law-abiding Americans while helping to keep guns out of the hands of those who pose a danger to themselves and to others.”
