A group of servicemen brought Graham into the Capitol building and placed his casket in the center of the Rotunda. President Donald Trump, Speaker of the House Paul Ryan, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, Graham’s family, and more, were present for the ceremony.

Graham is the first religious leader to ever lie in honor, and the ceremony began with an opening prayer.

“Let us pray,” the solemn moment started. “We give you thanks, Almighty God, for the appearance among us of great men and women who inspire us to a greatness beyond most of our imaginings. This day we honor a man of faith, Billy Graham, whose preaching and teaching was transformative in our nation, calling us to ever greater faithfulness and trust in you.”

“Dear Lord, thank you for inspiring such greatness in Billy Graham and continue to bless the United States of America, amen.”
