Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton warned Americans Wednesday that the Russians are still trying to undermine elections and said President Donald Trump is doing nothing to stop it.

“I say this as a former Secretary of State and as an American: the Russians are still coming. Our intelligence professionals are imploring Trump to act. Will he continue to ignore & surrender, or protect our country?” Clinton tweeted Wednesday morning.

The former secretary of state’s tweet included a Washington Post article where Director of National Security Agency Adm. Michael S. Rogers said Trump has not granted him new capabilities or authorities to Russian hackers in the upcoming 2018 midterm elections.

Former Attorney General Eric Holder made similar comments at an event in downtown Washington Tuesday morning, claiming the president has been largely derelict in trying to thwart potential Russian interference in the upcoming 2018 election cycle.

“This country was attacked. It was electronically attacked,” Holder told a crowd gathered at The Washington Post’s D.C. headquarters Tuesday. “It was hacked. The most basic part of who we are as Americans — our electoral system — was attacked. What have we done to prepare ourselves for what will be an inevitable attack in this year, 2020 and off-year elections in 2019. They (the president and GOP leadership) have done absolutely nothing.”
