Russell Wilson reportedly got beamed by a ball during his spring training stunt with the New York Yankees.

I’ve been saying this whole thing is so stupid, and I was proven right Tuesday. Wilson should be practicing slinging the rock all over the football field. He should leave baseball for those who actually play the sport. Well, I was proven right when he reportedly took a ball to the neck/chest region.

ESPN’s Cole Harvey tweeted, “As Yankees infielders take a few back-field grounders, Russell Wilson was just hit around what looked like his neck/chest by a ball that took a bad hop. He shook it off, jumped back in line and responded to a coach: ‘I’ve been hit harder.'”

So, kind of looks like I was right that this whole thing was a really stupid idea. I would be so mad right now if I was in the Seahawks management. The team’s best player is wasting his team getting beamed by a baseball during training with the Yankees. How does that make the Seahawks better? It doesn’t.

Get him out of this ridiculous spring training stunt, and get him on a plane back to Seattle immediately. I’m saying this as a fan of the guy. He’s a rare baseball talent. The guy is a superstar, but this is absurd. He has no business playing baseball.
