CNN’s Don Lemon tweeted out somewhat of a correction for his completely false assertion that Fox News did not cover White House communications director Hope Hicks’ resignation from the White House.

Lemon claimed on his CNN show on Wednesday night that Fox did not cover the resignation, but Fox News chief White House correspondent John Roberts destroyed the assertion. (RELATED: CNN’s Don Lemon Spread Fake News, Gets Called Out For It)

Roberts tweeted that the network covered the news in every hour of their broadcast from the 4 PM hour when the news broke, and then again during the 5 p.m., 6 p.m., and 7 p.m. hours.

Lemon came short of a full apology after being called out for his fake news, insisting that he just “misspoke” about Fox not covering Hicks.

“Last night, in an attempt to make a broader point about Fox News prime time I misspoke,” he tweeted. “I should have been more specific.”
