CNN contributor Ana Navarro said on “The View” that she wished there were more anti-Trump jokes at last night’s Academy Awards.

Cohost Meghan McCain knocked the Oscars for being overtly political and said she had to stop watching after Jimmy Kimmel joked that Hollywood makes movies specifically to anger Vice President Mike Pence.

“We know Hollywood is filled with liberals,” McCain argued. “It would be nice if we could take a beat on politics. We’re all so ensconced with it.”

Alternatively, Navarro, who has not hid her distaste for Trump, actually said she wished the Oscars were more political.

“I actually was watching for more Trump jokes, more NRA messages, more of that stuff. You know, I can’t stand Trump. I was actually disappointed,” Navarro said. “So I think a lot of people even before the Oscars began were already talking about how insufferable the Oscars were going to be because there were going to be so political. There was a lot of preamble to the Oscars.”

“It kind of let me down,” Navarro insisted. “I wanted more Trump jokes, I wanted more Mike Pence jokes.”
