MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough joked on Monday that President Donald Trump isn’t intelligent enough to collude with Russia and “can’t collude with a ham sandwich.”

Scarborough, cohost of “Morning Joe,” said he thinks it is “likely” that President Trump doesn’t end up “ensnarled” in Mueller’s Russia investigation because he doesn’t have the “attention span” necessary to launch a conspiracy to collude.

“I think he colluded by mistake,” cohost Mika Brzezinski joked. “I don’t think willfully.”

“He’s living in this fantasy land where this probe can touch everybody who’s right next to him but somehow he emerges unscathed,” Eugene Robinson offered. “That’s ridiculous, someone close to him once said, you know, since he cannot collude with his cabinet or with anything else, it would be difficult for him to collude.”

“The man can’t collude with a ham sandwich right now,” Scarborough asserted. “His attention span does not allow him to do that.”

Robinson agreed but said that if Trump saw a “shiny object” he might jump on it without realizing that it could land him in trouble.
