CNN’s Don Lemon oversaw one of the cringiest moments in the latest news cycle Tuesday night.
Lemon’s panel was discussing the most recent accusations by porn star Stormy Daniels against President Donald Trump. Daniels recently filed a lawsuit against Trump, claiming that her non-disclosure agreement with him is invalid.
On the panel, Lemon asked political strategist Kevin Madden about the affair, to which Madden said the White House will claim that she is trying to get “attention” before saying Daniels does have some “very credible claims.” Madden eventually admitted that “discussing a sitting president being sued by a porn star” is a “routine part of today’s news cycle.”
To which conservative Stephen Moore from the Heritage Foundation quipped “Kevin, are you saying that a porn star would try to call attention to herself? Shocking, right?”
The four other people on the panel responded with silence.
You could hear a cough and the shuffling of papers for what seemed like an eternity.
