President Donald Trump took a friendly swipe at outgoing economic advisor Gary Cohn in his last cabinet meeting Thursday at the White House.

“This is Gary Cohn’s last cabinet meeting. He may be a globalist, but I still like him,” Trump cracked.

The president continued, “In his own way he’s a nationalist because he loves our country.”

Cohn resigned Tuesday from the White House after spending nearly 14 months advising the president and playing a key role in the passage of the December tax reform legislation.

Cohn was reportedly considering resigning for weeks and led the fight against Trump’s plan to impose tariffs on imported steel and aluminum. Trump announced the tariffs in late last week and Cohn resigned days later.
