The details of President Donald Trump’s military parade have leaked, and from the look of the things, it doesn’t seem like we are going to have tanks rolling through the capital.

Trump ordered the Pentagon to plan a massive military parade reflecting American military power and the spirit of the American people, The Washington Post reported early last month. A few weeks later, news broke that the event would be held on Veteran’s Day. A leaked Department of Defense memo to the Joint Chiefs of Staff highlights some of the details of the upcoming parade, according to CNN, which first obtained the memo.

The event will not include tanks to avoid damaging local infrastructure, according to the leaked Petagon memo, but the celebration will include a “heavy air component at the end of the parade, to include older aircraft as available.”

The planned military parade “will focus on the contributions of our Veterans throughout the history of the U.S. Military, starting from the Revolutionary War and the War of 1812 to today, with an emphasis on the price of freedom.” The parade will also highlight the evolving role of women in the military.

Apparently, this celebration of the American military will also feature soldiers in Revolutionary War uniforms.

The parade route will run from the White House to the Capitol, and the president will be surrounded by veterans and Medal of Honor recipients in the reviewing area.

Many observers were quick to compare Trump’s plans to China and North Korea, even though the parade was inspired by France’s Bastille Day Parade, but Trump is apparently planning a very different kind of parade.
