A massive debate has broken out about whether or not you’d rather be anonymously wealthy or super famous.

There is a very obvious correct answer to this question, and it’s the option to be secretly wealthy. For the sake of argument, I’ll grant that people who are famous also generally have some money in the bank. So, in this scenario, let’s say that you can be super famous and worth about $10 million or you can be overlooked by society with a net worth of $50 million.

This is the easiest no-brainer of all time. Why would anybody ever choose to be famous over having $50 million in the bank? You’d have to be so vain and narcissistic to choose that option.

If you choose to be anonymously wealthy the benefits are endless. You get the money, you get your privacy and nobody is following you around waiting for you to screw up.

Look, I only enjoy a few things in my life, and none of them require me to be famous. I like guns, military-grade explosives, bullets, beer, basketball, hitting up the bars and occasionally catching a movie. I don’t need famous ties to do any of that stuff. However, I can do all of that stuff to my heart’s content with $50 million in the bank.

I don’t understand people who desperately want to be famous just for the sake of being famous. It makes less than zero sense to me. I understand people who want money because money gives you some sense of security and freedom. How could you ever fully enjoy that if you’re not private?
