There must be some sort of misinformation campaign going on in the Cleveland Cavaliers’ locker room because some former and current players have some flaming hot takes on science.

Last summer, Kyrie Irving appeared on the “Road Trippin’: Richard vs. Channing” podcast and told them he believed the earth was flat. Mayhem naturally ensued and Twitter had a field day. Needless to say, it was a rousing success.

So this week, current Cavs point guard Jordan Clarkson gave his own take on alternative science.

“I don’t believe in dinosaurs either,” he said. “Well no, I actually do. I believe that — this is gonna get a little crazy. I’m gonna take y’all a little left on this. OK, so y’all know how we got dogs and stuff, right? So, I think it was bigger people in the world before us, and, like, the dinosaurs was they pets.”

When he was pressed on the issue, Clarkson doubled down, saying dinosaurs are at least three times bigger than dogs and therefore must have been kept as bigger pets for bigger people.

He didn’t exactly present any Neil Degrasse Tyson-level evidence so I’m not quite sold yet. But as soon as he gives a compelling argument I’m willing to hear him out. I’ll hear any NBA conspiracy theory once.
