Police are engaged in a standoff with a gunman near Princeton University, according to news reports.
A man entered a Panera Bread across the street from the Ivy League university with a firearm at approximately 10:30 AM Tuesday morning. Police responded quickly to the incident and have surrounded the location.

Police Chief Nick Sutter told the local paper that the situation is contained and police are negotiating with the man. Reports could not confirm if shots had been fired or if there were any hostages. During the interview, the gunman could be heard over the police scanner saying “no one is coming through those doors.”
Police have shut down the surrounding area and barricaded the street.
