Republican Sen. Marco Rubio harshly criticized White House leakers while speaking with CNN Wednesday.

Rubio said that he didn’t necessarily approve of Trump congratulating Russian President Vladimir Putin on his re-election but also didn’t like the fact that it was leaked by White House staff to the press.

“No, I don’t like he did it, but you know what I like even less, that there’s somebody close to him leaking this stuff out.”

“If you don’t like the guy, quit,” Rubio said in a clip played on “CNN Newsroom With John Berman and Poppy Harlow.”

“But to be this duplicitous and continue to leak things out, it’s dangerous,” the Florida Senator stated. “I don’t like what he did, but I really hate that there’s someone in his inner circle that’s willing to leak this stuff. If you don’t like working for the president, you should resign your job.”

President Trump faced an embarrassing story on Tuesday after it was reported by the Washington Post that he congratulated Vladimir Putin on his re-election despite being explicitly told not to do so by his advisors. (RELATED: REPORT: Trump Ignored Explicit Advice To Not Congratulate Putin On Victory)
