It’s a cold day in America, and there might not be a better way to start the morning than by watching the shootout from “Wind River.”
WARNING: SPOILERS BELOW. DO NOT KEEP READING IF YOU HAVEN’T SEEN THE MOVIE YET AND INTEND TO WATCH EVENTUALLY.
“Wind River” is one of my favorite movies. I couldn’t get enough when I saw it in theaters. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time.
The idea of a grizzled game warden and a fresh FBI agent chasing down some killers was more than enough for me. The money was out of my wallet before I even knew what happened. Jeremy Renner and Elizabeth Olsen both gave performances that won’t be forgotten anytime soon.
The best scene, in my humble movie-critic opinion, is when the bad guys finally decide to square up with Olsen and the local police. The intensity of the gun battle was beyond description, and we all know Renner had to come in to drop a few of the thugs.
I don’t know what you’re doing with your life if you haven’t seen “Wind River.” It was the best movie of 2017 by a country mile, and the fact it got zero Oscars will forever be a travesty beyond explanation.
