R&B singer Bobby V is being investigated as a suspect in an alleged rape that took place last week, police say.
According to TMZ, officials are looking into a case filed by a woman on March 19 in Cobb County, GA. They say the alleged incident took place on Sunday, March 18. Bobby V was listed as the suspected rapist. Most other elements are pretty unclear; police haven’t disclosed when, where, or how the rape may have happened. TMZ has confirmed that Bobby V lives in the Cobb County area, however.
Representatives on Bobby V’s team say they’re lawyering up and working to counter the investigation. They say they’ll take legal action “against what appears to be a weak yet calculated attempt to obtain financial gain through ulterior motives in the matter,” later adding that “Bobby takes any allegation against women very seriously. However, false allegations damage true victims of sexual abuse.”
It’s not immediately clear whether Bobby V’s alleged victim is seeking monetary compensation for the incident.
This isn’t the singer’s first legal run in. Last year, Bobby V claimed he was extorted by a prostitute who accused him of leaving her without paying.
No doubt this situation will continue to unfold. It’s important to note that everything is alleged at the moment but Bobby V will likely have to work to repair his reputation, no matter what the outcome of this situation is.
