Hip-hop celebrity and award-winning musician Cardi B is upset that the government is taking 40 percent of her income.

Belcalis Almanzar, who became famous under her stage name Cardi B, has not shied away from voicing political opinions on President Donald Trump or supporting NFL protester Colin Kaepernick. But it’s the government’s use of her money that consumed her most recent internet tirade.

“So you know the government is taking 40 percent of my taxes and Uncle Sam, I want to fucking know what you’re doing with my fucking tax money!” Almanzar said in a video posted on Instagram late Thursday.

She compared the opacity of the federal government’s spending to charities that help people around the world. “When you donate, like, to a kid from a foreign country, they give you updates of what they’re doing with your donation,” she said. “I want updates on my tax money!”

“I’m from New York and the streets is always dirty, we was voted the dirtiest city in America,” she said, adding that “there’s still rats in the damn trains.”

The singer’s meteoric rise over the past few years has undoubtably increased her wealth. Her song “Bodak Yellow” reached the number one spot on Billboard in September, and AOL.com estimates that she could be worth between $4 and $5 million.

Cardi B has become a voice of the celebrity resistance, appearing with Hillary Clinton a video reading Michael Wolff’s salacious “Fire and Fury” about the Trump White House, and said last year that she hopes “evil villain” Trump will be impeached.
