CBS released a video of Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski reading a letter to his younger self over the weekend, and it might make the room a bit dusty.

Duke fell to Kansas in an awesome game Sunday night, but that hardly diminishes this awesome video from CBS.

The legendary coach addresses his upbringing, his time at West Point and his unbelievable career at Duke. Good luck watching this and not getting a shade emotional. I rarely say there are videos that you should stop everything to watch. This is without question one of those videos.

That’s what sports is all about. Coach K came from a working class family, was the first of his family to attend college and now he’s the proud owner of five national championship rings. I’m not sure there’s a more American story than his.

People sometimes forget the power of sports, and it’s important to recognize that sometimes it is more than a game. Athletics provide people with an avenue to a better life, as proven with Coach K. His legacy means a lot more than final scores, stats, championships and box scores. He has served as a shining example of what it means to be a leader for decades. It’s going to be a sad day when he retires, even for people who despise Duke.
