BuzzFeed is the latest group to jump on the trend of popularizing my saying “shoot your shot.”

They shared a screenshot of a Spongebob photo to Instagram stating, “Girls after they ‘shot their shot’ by liking 1 photo.” It’s not the exact same, but it’s clearly a variation.

This really grinds my gears. Absolutely grinds them all the way down. I’ve been saying “shoot your shot” long before anybody else was, and I was raked over the coals for it. Nobody thought it was okay.

Everybody just laughed and mocked me. Excuse me for having an awesome saying for picking up women at the bars. I’m out here firing machine guns at the ladies, and the peanut gallery has plenty of hot takes when nobody else was saying “shoot your shot.”

Now, everybody is trying to pretend it’s mainstream by their own efforts.

You think I was grinding it in the pits so that BuzzFeed and their kind could just steal my sayings? Hell no. I’m out here slaving on the streets of the internet trying to build an empire. I saw ESPN do this same thing the other day. What am I running here? A charity?

If you weren’t rocking with the “shoot your shot” movement five years ago, what makes you think you can rock with it now? That’s not how life works at all. Cry me a river and stay in your lane.
