Former interim DNC head Donna Brazile said on Fox News Thursday that she hopes Hillary Clinton “stays on the battlefield” for the Democrats in the 2018 midterms.

Fox News host Dana Perino asked, “It might feel a little bit harsh, but would it be better for Democrats if Hillary Clinton sort of took a step back in this year’s election?”

“You know, Secretary Clinton will be speaking later today at Rutgers University, a school that I had an opportunity to visit a few years ago,” Brazile said. “I think she has every opportunity to speak. She has every opportunity to tell her story and also to help the country.”

“She has invaluable experience about what we should be doing in the 21st century. So, I’m not one of those individuals that believe Hillary Clinton should somehow or another go home and bake cookies. I hope that she stays on the battlefield. I hope every American who believes we can do better in the future will get out there and do as much as possible.”
