It’s Absurd The National Title Game Is Starting So Late At Night

The national championship basketball game between Michigan and Villanova doesn’t get started until 9:20 pm EST tonight, and that’s insane.

Serious question: who the hell is coming up with these game times? We’re really going to start a game a little more than two hours before midnight? Is this a bad joke that I’m not understanding?

There is absolutely no excuse for the game to be starting this late. I’d rather it be played at noon than played shortly before ten. I have stuff to do, empires to build, women to shoot winks at, beers to drink and sleep to catch up on. Throwing the game on at 9:20 EST is going to make that a shade more difficult.

Of course, I’m not out here doing this just for me. I’m watching this game and celebrating for all the people around the world who can’t. It’s that level of selflessness that represents everything we love about sports. Props to me for embracing my role.

This obviously won’t change before the start time of the games tonight, but somebody needs to get this figured out for next year. I don’t want to be sitting here in early April 2019 having the exact same conversation. Shame on you NCAA and everybody involved. You’re forcing me to stay up. I’ll do it, but I’m not going to go quietly into the night.
