Robert Downey Jr. turns 53 years old today but for a guy with such a jam packed career, he sure doesn’t show it. Downey Jr. has starred in some movies that define a generation. He’s been Iron Man, Sherlock Holmes, and Kirk Lazarus in “Tropic Thunder.”

It’s no secret the guy is as equally talented as he is hilarious. He’s played both serious, action-packed roles and comedic ones. Back in the early 1990’s, though, he struggled with substance abuse and Hollywood started to lose hope for the rising star.

But his friend and director Jon Favreau fought for him to play Iron Man in 2008 and the movie quickly became a massive success. It grossed close to $100 million at the box office on opening weekend in the US and gave rise to an empire. Downey Jr. went on to star in two more Iron Man moves and eventually starred in the “Avengers” series. He’s currently filming both “Avengers: Infinity War,” and its following sequel, as well as another “Sherlock Holmes,” which will all be released within a year.

And while there are sure to be some epic moments in his upcoming films, here are some of his more entertaining moments to date.

1- When he recruited Peter Parker to be Spider Man.

2- And his audition for “Iron Man” might be one of the more entertaining things to watch.

3- But his Instagram comes in at a close second.

4-When he came out as Iron Man in one of a press conference for the ages.

5- And, of course, His beautiful performance in “Tropic Thunder.”

It’s probably safe to say that Robert Downey Jr. is a once in a generation talent.
