President Trump told attendees at a business roundtable in West Virginia Thursday that he believes Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf committed obstruction of justice when she warned illegal immigrants in her city of an impending ICE raid.

“How about the mayor of Oakland, where she tells a thousand people to get going [because] law enforcement is coming to get [them]?” Trump said. “Now this was all planned, and many of them scattered, and it was pretty much a failure.”

“To me, that’s obstruction of justice and something should happen there,” he continued. “It hasn’t and I don’t know why it hasn’t, but something should happen there.”

The Democratic Oakland mayor used a tweet on February 25 to warn the San Francisco Bay immigrant community of possible immigration enforcement actions in the area, saying it was her “duty and moral obligation as Mayor to give those families fair warning when that threat appears imminent.”
