Actor and vocal Trump critic George Lopez thinks Conor McGregor should be shipped off to Ireland after he threw a dolly through the window of a bus last week.
TMZ paparazzi caught up with him on Monday leaving the airport. Asked whether he was shocked by McGregor’s actions, Lopez condemned the violence and suggested he might be a threat.
“What is that?” Lopez asked. “If you got that much cash, why are you throwing hand carts through the window?”
When pressed on whether McGregor should be deported, Lopez doubled down.
“I’m in favor of that,” he said. “Mexicans get a free wall, who’s not going to like that?”
To be clear, George Lopez, who is of Mexican descent, often claims to be extremely lenient on immigration policy. Last year during a charity ball, Lopez was booed off the stage after he made fun of President Trump and used lewd language.
According to some in attendance, Lopez insisted on making comments about the President even after he was asked to stop.
“Listen, it’s about the kids,” Lopez reportedly said. “I apologize for bringing politics to an event. This is America, it still is…So I apologize to your white privilege.”
Lopez later poked fun at Trump’s proposed border wall, adding, “I guess you can get some Mexicans to do it cheaper, and they wouldn’t crush the tunnels underneath.”
Lopez has also criticized Trump on social media. Last summer in a since-deleted post, the actor added a lengthy post about immigration policies.
“The Trump Administration is Deporting Latinos to Make the Streets Safer,” later saying, “You Wanna Make the Streets Safer Deport the Police!”
Now there’s a suggestion.
One little problem, though. Flagrant falsehoods aside, if we deport the police, there’ll be nobody to deport Conor McGregor.
It’s amazing how many celebrities and liberal pundits flip on their immigration stances as soon as the conversation shifts away from minorities. Building a wall to edify our southern border is racist but advocating to deport an entire police force on the grounds of safety is A-OK.
Hollywood is being overrun with hypocrites; the walls of their echo chambers only continue to thicken. George Lopez is only the latest example of this.
