Maren Larae Morris turns 28 on Tuesday!

Born in Texas, Morris received her first guitar at age 12. She recorded three albums from 2005 to 2011, spending several years in Nashville writing songs for other artists such as Tim McGraw and Kelly Clarkson.

Releasing her self-titled EP in August 2015, she took the country music scene by storm with lead single “My Church,” serving as her debut single in January 2016. Her major label album debut, “Hero,” released in June 2016 and peaked at number five on the Billboard 200 chart.

Following the 2017 Las Vegas Strip shooting at a country music festival, Morris recorded a duet with Vince Gill titled “Dear Hate,” with all of the proceeds going toward the Music City Cares Fund.

Maren Morris and fellow country singer Ryan Hurd began dating in December 2015, becoming engaged in July 2017. The two married in Nashville in March 2018.
