White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders fired back at what she called a “ridiculous question” from American Urban Radio Network’s April Ryan. Ryan, who also serves as a political analyst for CNN, asked whether President Donald Trump had given any thought to resignation.

When called upon during Tuesday’s daily press briefing, Ryan initially asked a question about the search that was conducted on the offices of Trump’s personal attorney, Michael Cohen. But when given the chance to ask a follow-up, Ryan changed direction.

“With all of this turmoil, particularly this last week, has the president at any time thought about stepping down, before or now?” she asked.

Sanders, without hesitation, shot back, “No, and I think that’s an absolutely ridiculous question.”

Other reporters in the room were taken aback by the question as well.

Ryan protested, “No, it’s not ridiculous. It’s not ridiculous. It’[s a legitimate question.”

Sanders waved her off. “I gave you two questions, April. We’re moving on.”

Ryan and Sanders have butted heads on a fairly regular basis, both in the White House briefing room and on social media.
